Here we grow again and again and again!

Lots have happened here! We have sincerely discussed an incredible new journey in our lives, we would talk about it when we walked, we would talk about it when we would see others with one.  We would talk ourselves out of it and we would wait until later to get a dog.

Well, we are in TN and I decided to take a peek at the SPCA website in this area.  There was a little yorkie/poodle mix up for adoption.  Well, the same day we decided to head up over the Smoky's to see Cherokee and the KOA.  We were offered a job at that KOA, they said they would take off the wheels off our rig so we had to stay!  We just laughed at them!

There were ice sickles hanging out on the walls of the mountain and about 1 1/2 in. of snow on the mountain road when we went over.  Construction of a new retaining wall, very important, since it is a huge drop down the mountain!

Along the way we came across a grist mill that still works and still runs lots of water through it.

Steve decided his burden was just too heavy and he needed to drop it and let the Lord take it.  Sounds like a sermon coming on!
This is a millstone around his neck!

My yoke was heavy but Jesus took it and now I can walk without that crazy yoke and all the weight that goes with it!

We took this walk up to the waterfall!  It is one of the highest in the Smoky's!  When you reached the top of the hike, you could not see it until you reached the top platform!  It was breath taking.
Meet Miss Mary Magdalene, she is Shih Tzu/ Papillion mix, 5 yrs old and when they put her in our arms, she was a total disaster!  She was shaking so bad!  She lost so much hair and did not seem ok!  But when I handed her to Steve, he didn't want her, but ya know, he really had no choice!  He looked at me with tears (this man rarely tears up!) and said "she isn't staying here, she is going with us".  We paid the fee and prayed over her and this picture is taken just a few days later!  She is walking on her leash and after 7 days is now leading me around!  We are still alpha dog (dad is) but I am the official trainer and she is just too smart!
It just amazes us daily! Going from no dogs to having one and talking of someday having another one if we ever have the room for a little bigger one.  Mary is just 12" tall and so far 5 lbs, but she is currently skin and bones.  We need to get about 4 lbs on her small frame to get her to a healthy weight!  God has blessed us with a dog rescuer here at the campground and she has been wonderful in helping us be new dog parents.  So, Mary's diet is Cottage Cheese and sometimes Pumpkin (pumpkin can give her the runs though) and lots of water and Iam's dog food.  She was never trained to drink from a bowl, only a cage bottle sipper.  So we give her water with a syringe.

Steve is thrilled to be loving on a dog!  For the past few years, dogs and cats have been finding him.  This gift was truly a God gift for us!  She is obedient, she doesn't potty in the house, she eats well, she is learning to "say hi" and walk by on our walks instead of barking and carrying on.
Look at this building carefully!  It's in Gatlinburg TN.

 Entering into Cherokee NC!

Frost and cold our first couple of days here in Raccoon Valley area!

Interesting!

Mary's first ride home!
