The Lord is on my side...
I won't be the same...
Have you ever thought "where will I go when I die?" "I'm a good person, I will end up in heaven of course."
Some believe just being a good person means you go to heaven, or everyone goes to heaven. But that's not the way we see it. The only way to heaven is through the son Jesus. He says "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father unless through me". That means you have to know Jesus to know the Father. You can't assume you know Him. You really have to know Him.
Just like you know your best friend or your spouse. You really have to know without a shadow of a doubt.
Here's something to help you know and ask, God has a plan for your life, He loves you. He loved you before your mama even knew, before the formation of the earth, he knew you. He planned your life, your death, your victories, your losses, your moves, your everything.
It's really quite simplistic. It's a matter of laying your pride down, what you have done and pick up what HE has done in you.
We all have lives that matter. Some matter to others, some matter to themselves more. But the more you give to others, the more you matter to others.
Why am I who I am? What made me follow Jesus? Why am I so...
When I was a kid, the bus ministry used to come get us. I disliked Sunday school for kids, it was too kiddish for me. I loved going to the Big Church, because I understood it better. I gave me life to Jesus often. No one ever explained that you did it once or when you really needed to, but often.
As an adult, I think the Bus ministry is a great idea, but sometimes you have to be willing to bring the parents along with.
We skipped church often, because we wanted to. Because sometimes it was boring. But for some in my family, we have walked with the Lord through rough times and good times. Sometimes walking alone or so we thought.
But when things got tough, Jesus was the one I could count on. He was by my side. When my son passed away and I saw Jesus face to face. I knew it was time to come back home to him.
These are my worship words. I am reminded that HE IS GOOD. All the time.
No matter what this life throws at me. No matter that bosses are controlling, churches try to control, God is the ultimate controller. He is the one we follow, not bosses, not churches, not even man. But Jesus.
He is on our side. He loves us so much that He sent His son for us. He laid down His life so that we might have life everlasting. He should be our only controller, all others are false gods or men with issues and control issues.
