We have not because we ask not!

Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, 12 behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you.

 2 Chronicles 1:11
Then God said to Solomon: “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of your enemies, nor have you asked long life—but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge My people over whom I have made you king— 12 wisdom and knowledge are granted to you; and I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings have had who were before you, nor shall any after you have the like.”

James 4

Pride Promotes Strife

Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet[a] you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and[b] adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:
“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”[c]

Humility Cures Worldliness

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

Do Not Judge a Brother

11 Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. 12 There is one Lawgiver,[d] who is able to save and to destroy. Who[e] are you to judge another?[f]

Do Not Boast About Tomorrow

13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will[g] go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” 16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

So many times we run through our lives at breakneck speed and we whisper to the Lord, I need this or that.  But truly, do you sit and converse with him?  Do you take time out of your daily life to really talk and listen to the Lord?  Or do you use him like a vending machine.  Put your request in and out it pops?

Sometimes we are just fans of Jesus and not followers.  What do I mean by this?  A fan is fair weather, if God doesn't do what you want, you lose faith in him.  If he does what you want then you are all in.  A Follower, takes time to get to know who God is, what are the deepest thoughts and shares your own deepest thoughts with him.  You count on him and He on you.  You are a warrior for the Kingdom and you will defend the Lord no matter what.  He can count on you and you count on Him.
Absolutely beautiful. God is so sweet.:

I did not really know the Lord until one fateful day, my 6 yr. old went to heaven.  I was so extremely lost and felt so alone.  I knew God had lost his only son and knew my pain.  Though the circumstances were different, the pain was the same.  I began to reach out to HIM and he walked me through it.  I began to spiral out of control by working too much and not allowing my kids time to grief.  For that I am sorry.  God was still there.  He rescued my heart, my mind, and my soul.  It took a year to find a church that wasn't one like Mr. D had his funeral in, it was Charismatic, loving, kind, peaceful, hopeful, and so amazing for us.  We began to get on fire for the Lord, life was beginning to go through the grief faster.  We got involved and was there everytime the doors were open.  It was a healing time.  I became a follower then.  Almost 27 years ago.

Sometimes when we go through the hardest times, we don't see God's hand in it.  We assume he is no where around.  But rest assured He is right there.  It is our voice he wants to hear.  It is our tears he wants to wipe away, even when it feels like he is not there, he is.  YOU are still breathing, he is there.

In our ministry, this has been the roughest season for us.  Sometimes I wonder if it is because we did follow our hearts and came up to NE because of family, sometimes I wonder what in the world is going on.  We don't fit in like we have at other campgrounds or other workplaces and we are not sure why.  But we are obedient and we are faithful.

Sometimes your call in your life won't look like your friends.  If you have been called to stay home with your children, that is your call.  If you are working and a parent and you are doing what you believe you are suppose to be doing, that may be your call.

What's the point of this blog today?  Is it to rattle your ears, tickle them?  No, I don't believe so.  I believe that you my dear, are called to do something great but you must become a follower and not just a fan of Jesus.

Sometimes we get so proud of what we believe that we never look at the other side of someone else's.  Maybe that person has been hurt by the church and has never looked back?  Maybe that person has been offended and has not let go to forgive.  Maybe, just maybe when we look at all sides of the person/situation, we can discover the truth and help set them free.

As a Christ follower, whose call is as Deborah, who the Lord has placed in the campgrounds, to be the Light in the Darkness, to allow the Holy Spirit to convict others, to allow the Lord to work in mighty ways without saying much at all, they seek us out.  This campground has been harder than others in such a way that the battle is spiritual and we have been in a war in the heavenlies.  It's been a major battle and one that has drug our bottoms home at the end of the shifts.  It's been the biggest battle we have ever been in.  We have lots to show for this battle too.  The bugs have invaded our lives this year.  We have been so many places and this is the first time we have had numerous ticks, ants, bugs, etc.  Gut issues for the first time in years, numb fingers and twisted nerves, yet we fight on. Amazing what the devil will throw your way when he is losing, he fights like a sissy.  But these warriors are still in the battle and we will not lose.  This is the Kingdom of God and we are in it to win it!  Being the Light in the darkness and watching the Lord work as we pray off the major storms so no destruction comes, praying in decently and in order as we work nights, however, the stress comes, but that's okay.  We are ready for anything!

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. - Psalm 62:5:

So, gather your thoughts, open your Bible and see that the Lord is good and that his mercy endures forever.

Now is the time, now is the time to stand and be called and know that He will fight for you.  Right now, if you do not know Jesus, it's time for you to know Him.  The devil wants you to believe everything today is okay, that the stuff on TV, some books,  and the dark shows are ok and normal.  Sin is sin and They are not normal or okay.  The devil wants you to believe everything that is happening today is okay, it's not.  It's a shadow of things to come when you are not a believer.  As a believer we have hope in tomorrow, strength for today, a promise of heaven and a life that is washed in the blood.  If you grew up and you were told you were nothing because you didn't go to church, sorry, that was a blatant lie.  You are something.  God never made junk.  He made precious jewels.  Each and every one of you are important to Him.  Your call, your walk, your deep belief in HIM is important to HIM!

Pray with me this if you don't know Jesus or if you have walked away even a little.

First this,

The ABC's of salvation. asking Jesus in your heart & living for him is the only way to get to heaven.:

and then this.

Salvation Prayer:

So what does this mean now?

Well, sometimes, things have to change.  Some of the things you are doing, look, access, if they glorify God- keep, if they don't let go.

Start small steps and then gain at running speed and you will find the freedom that you long for in your heart.
