Amazing Grace!

When you feel like you just can not do it, the Lord gently reminds you that you can!  We are in Vidalia LA and worked 2 days already.  The office is different than what I have done and trying to figure it out, well, that hasn't really happened yet.  The gal that is working with me, enjoys what she does and is not a "trainer" per se, so learning how to do this new system will take a bit.  My insides have been rolling like thunder with the uncertainty of how this all works here.  Like anything you are not sure of, you get those thunder rolls in your tummy when you don't know how. The fear of failing really does grip ya, but ya know God never allows us to fail, but to learn something new.  He is all we need. Psalm 61:1-4 NASB - 1Hear my cry, O God; Give heed to my prayer. 2From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3For You have been a refuge for me, A tower of strength against the en...

Travel Day- Not!

Image
Okay, today was suppose to be a travel day.  We are to report to Vidalia LA for 3-5 month work camp stint.  But, when we saw the forecast for rain and more rain for today, we decided to stay put and wait out the storm.  It's pouring out, I do mean buckets and buckets at a time.  Along with the lightening and thunder.  Even trying to get the "boys" out today was proving tough.  Mary went out, but then Cleo and Peter said "NO WAY!", but Peter did have to go out anyway to potty.  Mary went and came back in. So, in the last posts, I have asked you a few questions... What is God calling you to do?  What are your gifts and talents?  Here is a Spiritual Gifts test for free, take it, be honest.  It measures your gifts and talents. For some, when you find out what your gift is, you will not be shocked, it will explain exactly what you expected.  For some, it may show you something you never thought of.  So...

Multi-Gen Leaders and friends!

For some that have been reading and believing that I am radical, I am!  I am radically in love with Jesus!   I have been this way since Jesus first found me!  I have been on fire, baked, steamed, fried even for what I believe.  But I have been in ministry and had been hired because I love Jesus and I love kids and I love watching Kids fall head over heals in love with Jesus.   God has given me a great gift.  I started two Awana clubs.  One in the Azores and one in a Lutheran Church in Omaha NE.  Both clubs had a Multi-Gen group.  How?  Oh Man, have you ever been so excited about anything?  It's contagious and it's wonderful and it's POWerful!   In the Azores, I had leaders that did not have children come and listen to verses!  I had AF Commanders come and listen to verses.  I had them as Game Guys- 4 of them at once did games because of their jobs they needed to be able to be efficient without me being the g...

We are on missions

Image
What does missions mean to you?  Does it mean going overseas to preach the Gospel?  Maybe it's the Mormon faith how the teens go on missions all over the world including the U.S.?   When the Lord chose us to go on this mission minded life, it was not an easy thing for us.  We owned 2 cars - owned them- they were paid off.  We owned our truck, we owned our trailer but it wasn't built for what God was calling us for.  So we traded that in for one that would work.  We were told to go after the one.  We were not sure or even for certain what that meant except we knew the person.  I had not seen that person in over 20 years.  I had only met him 5 times in my entire life.  He chose to leave our lives when I was 5.  He came back into my life much later, but he was not the person I thought he was.  I always saw him as a knight in shining armor. I always thought he would come and save the day.  Little did I r...

Solid Ground, Higher Ground and His Peace

Psalm 42 says "As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God.  Where can I go and stand before him? " Psalm 42:11 says "Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again- my Savior and my God!" Psalm 61:1-2 says "O God, Listen to my cry! Hear my Prayer!" In our lives we face so many things, sometimes by the world, sometimes by our own choosing.  Sometimes from things of the past or facing the future.  One thing is for sure, the Lord is a Strong Tower.  We are safe when we are in His presence. How do you get into His presence when you feel so awful or when the things of this world get you down? For some of you that believe in tongues, it works.  Start edifying God in His language and the stress comes off.  Open Your Bible, God's Holy Word, and dig in to Psalms or Isaiah, or anywhere.  Ask the Lord to show you where to go.  Pray- pour ...

A lesson on Forgiveness

I am currently in school to complete my Master's in Christian Education.  Why?  For myself, to prove to myself that I am quite capable of completing a goal I set a few years ago.  So, for this part of my blog, I want to share with you my lesson.  At least part of it.  Topic: The Importance of Forgiving others. 30-45 minute lesson 1.        What Bible verses would I use?   I would do sword drills to open this lesson up and then ask what they believe the theme is?   a)       Verses: Matthew 18:21-22 - Then Peter came to Jesus and asked how many times shall I forgive my brother?   Jesus said “I tell you not 7 times but 70 times 7. b)       Matthew 11:25 - and when you stand in prayer, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him so that the Heavenly Father can forgive you. c)        Acts 10:43- To him all prophets ...

Because He loves you.

When you start reading different stories in the Word of God, you begin to realize that perfect people were not in the Bible.  So why do we think we have to be perfect first before we come to the Lord.  We don't, that's the beauty of it.  He turns our lives around, he accepts us just for who we are.  Some have done so much in their short life that they wonder if they can ever be accepted or forgiven.  I am here to tell you, Jesus saves.  He loves us regardless how we view ourselves or feel about ourselves.  He brings us out of the pit of despair, the pit of hell, the grip of the enemy.  He does and he finds us valuable in His Kingdom, even if the world doesn't.  He finds us and lifts us up to be something great.  We all have calls on our lives, but it's what you do with that knowledge and call that determines your outcome.  But I have to say sometimes we put ourselves into such a pit that we can not see how we can get out of it....
