Ripples

Have you ever been so angry at the devil for taking something so precious away?   As I am writing this, I was attacked by the enemy of Jesus.  I felt pain in my chest down to my waist, it was tight and I thought I would pass out.  My husband began to pray and it ceased.  See, the enemy comes to kill, steal, and/or destroy. Last week a child, he was just 15, was taken by the Spirit of Death who lied to him.  He believed him and he is gone.  The devil uses whatever he can to take away life, and believes that he will "rescue" you.  But he doesn't rescue, he steals from the person he lied to and the entire family.  The devil comes to kill, steal and destroy.  If he can do one of those things, he will not leave you alone until he gets all of them.  When we enter in a life with Jesus, no one said it was going to be easy, NO ONE EVER should tell you that living in obedience will be easy.  When you enter into a life with Je...

Hosanna!

Image
This is my favorite time of the year!  I love Ash Wednesday, Passover, Palm Sunday,   Maundy Thursday and then it's quiet until Easter when He rose!  I miss the tradition that we learned in the Lutheran Church I worked in, where on Maundy Thursday they stripped the alter and it was quiet.  It was like stripping Jesus of everything, his flesh cried out and He wept for He believed His Father had Forsaken Him.  Do you ever feel like God has forsaken you?  Do you ever feel like He doesn't really know what you are going through?  He does!  He really cares for you!  This day we sing Glory in the Highest, Hosanna, Hosanna.  In John 12, John tells us about what happened the week before Easter.  John 12 New King James Version (NKJV) The Anointing at Bethany 12  Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, [ a ] whom He had raised from the dead. 2  The...

Lord, Jesus, COME to all who are weary.

On the road again, after spending the winter in two different places.  The Sabbatical has been good.  Growing ever closer to the Lord is always an amazing journey.  More of Him and less of ourselves.  He always provides. Always gives abundantly.  Always is there when we call on His name!  The Name of the Lord is Strength, Protection, Grace, Peace, Love, and Hope.  Even in the Storms of our lives, He is there.  I write this because so many times, things come and things go, but I don't worry because I know my God is with me.  He has never forsaken me.  Ever.  Oh sure, at times I have wondered "Lord, Why are you so quiet?".  For years, I have dealt with something so dark and sinister, even through ministry, even through working.  It's not that I believe it's bad but it is.  God gives us life and life abundantly right?  After David died, these thoughts that I never realized were self-hatred came rushing i...

by Faith not by Sight

Image
We are so grateful for the pound and provisions we have.  We have always just made it, but sometimes it seems that God is in the impossibility business.  The last two months have been the tightest we have been for a long time.  We really need to be praying by faith over our finances even more so.  We work at walking by faith and knowing that He cares for us in this mission field.  We really need to start praying over our mission field as well and give more of it to Him and not on our own doing.  Being on Sabbatical has been eye-opening.  Really learning to count on Him more and less on us.  We have worked really great jobs, made some really great money along the way, in fact, making all that money, really didn't make us happier than we are now.  One blessing that we have experienced this year is that we have paid off almost all our debts and we have been able to save, however, in the past two months because of not working like we we...

More than enough

Image
When does it become more than enough for you?  More than enough Money?  Power?  Love?  Food?  Drink?  Other vises?  Shopping?  Spending?  Serving others above yourself?  How do we look outside ourselves to help and love on others and forsake those things that could easily be placed aside to show our families and our friends how important following Jesus is?  It's not sitting in a church or attending church for that matter.  You can sit in church and not get anything out of it except check it of your list of things to do.  Maybe it's your social time of the week and it's important in that area of your life, great.  Let me share some of our story with you.  Just in case you wondered who we are.  I have worked in ministry many years, volunteer or paid.  Steve as well.  Our last church job, the Lord called us out to go bring in the one sheep that got away.  Here's the scripture that ba...
