Life abundantly?
Today, I sit here in a class that did not show again. By now, I would be a bit ticked but since this isn't a student's fault, I get paid for it either way, it isn't a big deal. Besides just a few more weeks and this crew will be retired. 🎧🖳💻
Don't get me wrong, I will miss them. They have kept me bright, thinking, and busy. They, themselves, are busy in their lives. 😊😀
I was just reading about praying while waiting for the student to show. It talked about the Jesus Prayer. I thought ok, I know the Lord's Prayer and the Apostles Creed, but I don't know this one.
"Lord Jesus, Son of God, Have Mercy on Me!"
Then, it talks about breathing and being intentional about praying and breathing.
The best I could think of or remember was/is breathing in and out Yahweh.
Breathe in Yah
Breathe out Weh
Slow down your breaths; don't rush this
In- Yah
Out- Weh
As you breathe this way, your breaths slow down, your mind clears, all the worries leave.
Next, pray what David did after he messed up with Bathsheba.
He was not perfect, much like we are not perfect.
"A Prayer of Repentance
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David when Nathan the prophet went to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.
1Have mercy upon me, O God,
According to Your lovingkindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,
Blot out my transgressions.
2Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
And cleanse me from my sin.
3For I acknowledge my transgressions,
And my sin is always before me.
4Against You, You only, have I sinned,
And done this evil in Your sight—
That You may be found just [a]when You speak,
And blameless when You judge.
5Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
And in sin my mother conceived me.
6Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,
And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.
7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8Make me hear joy and gladness,
That the bones You have broken may rejoice.
9Hide Your face from my sins,
And blot out all my iniquities.
10Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
13Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,
And sinners shall be converted to You.
14Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
The God of my salvation,
And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.
15O Lord, open my lips,
And my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
16For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You do not delight in burnt offering.
17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.
18Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion;
Build the walls of Jerusalem.
19Then You shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness,
With burnt offering and whole burnt offering;
Then they shall offer bulls on Your altar."
John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. / And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”
And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.
I can not find it in scripture that Jesus descended to hell as in the Apostles' Creed.
Now pray "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, Have mercy on me".
Sometimes are lives get so busy or maybe they just get really boring, and it is hard to study God's Word. I get it. I was there. I have purposely gotten up earlier every morning now to read HIS WORD because I think if I give him my time, HE will give me more of HIS.
I am really enjoying getting to know God deeper. Ezekiel is an amazing, DEEP-thinking BOOK! I am seeing GOD and hearing HIS voice in it! I am just amazed that not many talk or preach about this book. It is eye-opening, heart surgery that shows me how the Justice of GOD is. So many, believe in simple grace, but if they only knew. Yes, God sent Jesus, but the Old and New Testaments match.
