Happy Birthday David- He would have been 32 this year!

Image
This has been a long time coming!  A story that needs to be told, a life that was given and taken sooner than later.  On September 29, 1983 at 1:35 a.m. David entered the world.  He shared the same birthday as his father and his great gramma.  David's life story is difficult and a blessing.  He was a joy and a learning curve.  You see, David was multi-handicapped.  He was a drug baby.  Not from me, but his father.  Did you know Marijuana changes your chromosomes?  It does. It also can be from the dad, after all the dad carries the see.  David went to Dr. Opitz a renown genetics doctor.  David's were not the same as ours, he had an extra 1/2.  So, here is the story that begs to be told because so many do not know.  I was 20 years old, the mom of a 4 month old and pregnant again.  They would be 13 mo. apart and are.  During my pregnancy I had morning sickness all the time.  Sun Tea was the worst, ...

The Lord is on my side...

I won't be the same... Have you ever thought "where will I go when I die?"  "I'm a good person, I will end up in heaven of course." Some believe just being a good person means you go to heaven, or everyone goes to heaven.  But that's not the way we see it.  The only way to heaven is through the son Jesus.  He says "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father unless through me".  That means you have to know Jesus to know the Father.  You can't assume you know Him.  You really have to know Him. Just like you know your best friend or your spouse.  You really have to know without a shadow of a doubt. Here's something to help you know and ask, God has a plan for your life, He loves you.  He loved you before your mama even knew, before the formation of the earth, he knew you.  He planned your life, your death, your victories, your losses, your moves, your everything.    It's really q...

Sometimes...

Image
Sometimes, something looks really great on the outside, but the toil and turmoil twists and turns and the something on the outside doesn't match what you are feeling on the inside.  The meadows are greener or so it seems, the sounds from others seem to bear little fruit and sometimes it doesn't bear well with your soul.  Our temptations can look really great on the outside, but when your spirit bears witness to what your feeling and how you have prayed but it doesn't seem to line up, know that the Lord will not allow you to fail on your own.  He will guide you and show you, but you have GOT to be in tune with HIM or you won't be able to hear HIM over the noise of the confusion.  You may well believe that what you have been hearing from others is good and right, but the Lord will bear witness to your soul. We were so worried about the winter.  We have not been in the winter snow for about 5 years.  We do not like the snow, we don't mind a bit of co...

God is STILL GOD...

Thanks to Pastor Kufohl of Grace Lutheran in Neligh NE, his blog on the results of the supreme court decision was very helpful. I can tell you, this decision was terrible or it was good, it was right or it was wrong.  I can stand an preach til I am blue in the face, but the fact is... God is Still God, Jesus still sits on the throne, the Holy Spirit will dwell in the believers of Jesus, and sin is still sin.  You can dispute everything else but those are the facts and the truth and it's hard to dispute the truth. God loves you!  He desires a real relationship with you.  Growing up my mom was reminded that she is a heathen and still does, over 60 years have passed and that's what she remembers.  We tend to remember the bad and those have dwelled in our memory for years, the good doesn't always seem to stay as long.  But the bad, gets into those dendrites over night and stay put until you sweep them out and tell the devil, um no, this is not...

Therefore I stand...

I have told my testimony before but I am still being called "religious", "she may talk about her religion."  I don't have a religion, I don't.  I have a relationship with the Trinity.  God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit who lives inside of me.  I have been a Jesus follower for over 30 years, really longer.  As a child I gave my heart to Jesus in "Big Church", I tried hard to read my Bible but it was difficult for me to understand and not one person said to start with James and work your way through the Gospels and then take on Acts and the rest of the New Testament because the Old Testament may stop a new believer quickly.  Once you get through the New you can go into the old and start with Psalms and Proverbs and them gear up and take on another book.  With all the yuck stuff going on around us, how do we remain strong and mighty?  How do we not fall for the enemies lies that things are "suppose" to be this way?  How do we not accept...

What in the World has it come to?

Image
As my grampa said when I asked him at age 5, "Grampa what are we?"  He said "we are Heinz 57".  I asked what did that mean?  "It's a bit of everything".  Oh, okay.  I remember that conversation because I had spilled a 1/2 gallon of milk on his new carpet and because we lived with him for a year while my dad was overseas. When my dad went searching our roots and found several different things we are, I was amazed.  We have every tribe and nation in us, or so it seems.  I raised my children to look at the heart of people and not the color of their skin.  My kids were friends with everyone, regardless.  We were military and some of the best people in the world are serving their country.  I stand on God's Word and God's promises.  I look at others, regardless of race, creed or religion, status, or job without discrimination.  I wanna be like Jesus!  I wanna love others like He does. It angers me when it seems all th...

Hope

Image
Hope... what is hope?  How is hope defined?  Let's rock this word and find out.  The Word of God tells us in many places what hope is.  Hebrews 11:1 says "Faith is the substance hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. 1Colossians 1:27 says "The Hope of Glory, Christ in me. In other scriptures as in this picture... The World defines hope as sometimes elusive and or fleeting. In Webster's Dictionary: the archaic word HOPE is defined as TRUST. So let's replace hope with trust and see how it fits. It fits beautifully- same meaning different word.  Hope, Faith and Love, the greatest of these is Love. I like this one Hope is the only thing stronger than fear. In my search for Hope, I find Jesus.  He is the center of my life, the head of my life and I walk in the back, I place my hope in HIM.  I know I can not be in this life without HOPE/Trust in HIM.  If I have lost everything in my life, family, house, jobs, I sti...

The Name of the Lord is a Strong Tower

Image
The Righteous run into it and they are safe. Proverbs 18:10 Life is not always fun, it's not always as it seems but it is your life to live how you choose.  As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. With all the flooding in TX and OK, the high heat in India, the violence all over the US and paid protesters posing for a wage hike that doesn't even affect them, sticking our heads in the sand isn't going to help. I can write here, but honestly, I don't know what to do either.  Social media maybe, telling others our woes maybe.  We already know the government doesn't listen and they take our money.  So, I will go to the Lord, he hears my pleas, my heartfelt tears of frustration and angst. When I cry out to him, he does hear me. When I am weak, he is strong. When I am low, he picks me up. Because I am more. As I study for my Master Degree in Christian Education.  I often wonder what will it get me, why do I want it, what is it worth...

When life gets tough, rough and troubled, what do you do?

Image
Do you get mad?  Do you take it out on someone or something?  Do you seek smart council?  Do you believe that the Lord can help and He is always there?  For me, personally, when I know I can't solve it myself, I go to a prayer book and start praying through it until I get peace.  But some people aren't like that, I get it.  I have seen it.  Sometimes we are so afraid of what's on the other side of that, that it is hard to see the answers clearly.  Sometimes, it's easier to carry the burdens of bitterness, regret, anger, malice, and even jealousy or self bitterness than it is to confront the real reasons for it.  Those are all tools, but definitely not good tools or even good baggage to carry around.  It takes strength to let these things go.  It really does.  I remember being bullied in school, chased home daily and beat up.  When I was going through a Wellspring Healing class, the Lord woke me one night and said ...

What do you believe?

And you thought this was going to be a travel blog of where we are?  Well, it is, it really is.  However our journey isn't just a physical one, it's a spiritual one as well.  So many things are happening in the world and so much deception too.  The media says things that after awhile we either tune it out or we start to believe it.  Just like the TV shows, all the stuff that's out and we have to discern right from wrong, evil from good.  Last night I listened to Pastor Michael Youssef,  he talked about 1 Thessalonians 5:16 -24 In New King James: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-25 New King James Version (NKJV) 16  Rejoice always, 17  pray without ceasing, 18  in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19  Do not quench the Spirit. 20  Do not despise prophecies. 21  Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22  Abstain from every form of evil. Blessing and Admonition 23...
