It's hard... at times... to be...

Image
When your children grow up, they leave home, for some it is joyful but for some it is extremely difficult.  My last child left and it was devastating!  It was the worst case of "I wonder what I will do now that my kids are gone".  I was a children's pastor and that helped some but my mom life was over.  At times I still feel so disconnected from it.  It's been 10 years and it is still hard.  I am not one to "talk back" to my own parents and I am not one to talk badly to my own children.  But when they hurt my feelings, I am not sure what to say.  My feet want to run, my heart cries out to my Heavenly Father - Abba Father!  Not sure how to deal with this part of my life.  My dogs don't talk back, they do have minds of their own and will express them, but they love unconditionally and don't scream.  That's what is on my mind today.  We did make a trip to the Gulf Coast and found it breathtaking once again.  However, the...

Okay, not really but sort of!  Watching the dog frolicking in the water and playing in the sand!  Giggling and then playing his favorite sport, soccer, and yes, I am still talking about the dog!  We have only traveled with Mary but not Peter.   Mary Peter at 4 mo. old. Peter at 10 mo. old We have had a blast on our trip!  The power of the ocean always reminds me of the power God has.  His power is greater and more powerful than anything you can ever imagine.  His great love is power enough! Job has a lot to say about God!  Read here: Job 37:1-13 (message bible) “Whenever this happens, my heart stops— I’m stunned, I can’t catch my breath. Listen to it! Listen to his thunder, the rolling, rumbling thunder of his voice. He lets loose his lightning's from horizon to horizon, lighting up the earth from pole to pole. In their wake, the thunder echoes his voice, power ful and majestic. He lets out all the stops, he h...

God Gives us U-Turns

Image
What do I mean by God gives us U-Turns.  You can always turn things around.  We have choices in our lives that allow us to do that.  Are you working at a job that really bites?  What would you like to do?  What are the things/gifts you have that you would like to use for a job?  What are you really good at that you can use as a talent to find a new position?  Are you addicted to something?  Do you like it or is it taking you down?  Is it consuming your life and your joy?  Is it controlling your life?  Your health?  Your relationships?  Get help, find a Celebrate Recovery group.  http://www.celebraterecovery.com/   This group helps you to put Jesus first, you only have today and you have Jesus and He allows U-Turns.  Find help for your addiction, Jesus can help too!  Here is my U-Turn.  I am not sure how many are reading this, it varies at times.  But I recently read a blogger post t...

Essential Business Writing class

Wow!  It's been a long, long time, since we have been on the road.  It has been 2 years since we have come off the road and into a stick and brick house.  Yet, this is still not home.  Home is where the heart is and this is not where our heart is.  Our heart is out there on the road; meeting new people and learning their stories, seeing our families more often than we have.  In the past few months, many things have happened.  Our house was broken into, vanished were 2 computers- one with all my writings and ramblings and our past ten years of pictures, the other computer was brand new.  Some jewelry walked off too.  It was pretty frightening since I walked in on them at lunch time.  I was so angry and really afraid more for our fur-babies than for myself.  Our oldest dog, she is 5 now, has PTSD and we have been extra careful with her.  She lost it about a week after this break in.  She was hiding under the beds for abo...

Life's update

Life and living abundantly. Life can be what you make of it or it can be what you allow God to do in it in spite of your own doing.  Since January, many things have taken place.  We are still where we are, haven't moved back into the trailer yet.  Although the smaller space would be great, it just won't work just yet.  We have a new pup, he is quite a comic and loves being loved on.  I completed my CDA and have moved into a lead teacher position.  We are planning and looking way forward down the road when we can travel the road again.   Steve is learning his new job well and loves being back with his old crew.  We have loved all our travels and adventures, we miss meeting all the people we did, the life of living in the rig, the campgrounds, the beauty of nature and the peace that comes when you allow God to show you how to live life. We are still following what God desires, but it's different because we get so busy with life...

Who Switched off my Brain? By Caroline Leaf is an incredible book and website that explains how are brain holds onto so much.  Here is a taste of her site, you can click on the link and it will take you to the site. 87% to 95% of the illnesses that plague us today are a direct result of our thought life. What we think about affects us physically and emotionally. It's an epidemic of toxic emotions. The average person has over 30,000 thoughts a day. Through an uncontrolled thought life, we create the conditions for illness; we make ourselves sick! Research shows that fear, all on its own, triggers more than 1,400 known physical and chemical responses and activates more than 30 different hormones. There are INTELLECTUAL and MEDICAL reasons to FORGIVE! Toxic waste generated by toxic thoughts causes the following illnesses: diabetes, cancer, asthma, skin problems and allergies to name just a few. Consciously control your thought life and start to detox your brain! Medical research...

Vows

What is a Vow? We aren't talking wedding vows, but what is a vow, do you know? I am using the "Green Book- Wellspring School of Ministry, the Wellspring model. How to Minister Workbook. By Art and Patti Mathias Have you ever said: "I will never let a man (or woman) ever hurt me again?" Or, "I will never put myself in that position again." "I can't trust anybody." "Nobody can do it right but me." "I will never be like my mother (or father)." "I will never be like that." "I will never share what I really feel, it is not safe." Many men say this ab out their mothers, and then it transfers to their wives. "Men (women) never do it right." "Don't share", etc. Proverbs teaches us that as we think in our hearts, so we become (Proverbs 23:7a). If we make these "vows", or statements, they are waiting to be fulfilled, and Satan will make sure they happen. Many o...

Oh the new you is waiting to break through!

We have basically locked ourselves up to hear the voice of God, the Holy Spirit to learn the things that are not of God and break the things and the generational curses that have taken our sight of walking with God fully. We haven't talked on the phone much to anyone, we haven't gone really anywhere except we have gone to the Revival, this has been incredible as we have learned how to pray off the yuck and become cleaner before the Almighty God, the Holy Spirit has spoken in us along with being healed. Remember when Adam and Eve were in the garden? When the snake tempted Eve and Adam with the apple. Everyone blamed Eve, but Adam is the seed that carries forth through all generations, so the blame should have been on Adam for breaking the covenant with God and then hiding because they were naked. They didn't know they were naked before the eaten apple, but after. We started a new Bible class this January, it's from Wellspring Prayer Ministry in Alaska. It's...

I don't even have the words to put in this post.  I have experienced this!  Perplexed and Amazed!  Acts 2:11-13 New King James Version (NKJV) 11 Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” 12 So they were all amazed and perplexed , saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?” 13 Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.” I can not wrap my head around what is happening!  Wed. I had a 2nd interview at a place with 3 wonderful people.  They asked 2 pages of questions and they were answered accordingly.  The interview took all of 20 min.  I left just not being able to read this.  Steve stayed with the little ones, Daycare kiddos while I was away.  I was a bit nervous but they did very well, all of them!  These are our old bunch of kiddos.  They are at home with their mom now.  So, Thursday, I am lamenting about how I wanted daycare, I believe it wasn't from...

Entrapment

Image
Entrapment-  to lure into a compromising statement or act.  Tough word.  In January on this blog, I wrote that we felt trapped, entrapped.  How were we ever to get out of it?  Well, here is October 2012 on us and in August, the Lord gave us that word of entrapment.  However, this time, we came home and prayed about it.  We realized that what we were doing was being trapped into something others believe is the American dream of having a house and all the stuff that goes with it.  For us, it is entrapment.  We have a travel trailer that is our home.  It is something we love and we love being in.   This is our home, but right now it is sitting outside in the driveway waiting to be used again.  We are looking for a Children's Pastor Position and to get back to the call we were given by the Lord a few years ago.  Man, Lord we were so very blessed!  Me, saying goodbye!  I was really ...

A blast from the past!

Image
Azores Chapel- The new beginning of leadership for me.  It was something the Lord had and I was never sure of until God showed strong.  In 2002, I was forced to go to the Azores with my ex. and my then 16 yo daughter.  We were leaving a Basketball club we were running with 28 families.  It was something that I really did enjoy doing.  We traveled all over Iowa and Nebraska, playing basketball, going to tournaments and have many families that we were so blessed by.  This move to the Azores was a blessing though.  It really opened the doors to the future.  The marriage didn't make it, but the friendships my daughter and I made there are still going.  I was determined that I would make quilts and rest in the Lord.  I was in a class and someone asked me if I wanted to volunteer for something.  That standard answer that I was going to quilt and rest in the Lord came up a few times.  Well, when I inquired about the Aw...
